ARTIST STATEMENT
Drawn Skin is a series of drawings that were completed as part of a residency at Centrum in Port Townsend, Washington. It was created while contemplating my relationship to my own body. This work provokes the desire to touch and explore the bodyÕs physicality. Every day medical technology draws us closer to an understanding of the mechanism of our body and the cycles of birth and death. The fusion of man and machine seems inevitable and will ultimately prove necessary for the survival of both entities. |
