The marbles inside the suitcase represent the dreams, memes and schemes that we take with us when we go to a new place. The mirrored surface inside reflects the viewer literally in the way that someone’s belongings reflects them figuratively. In other words, we are what we bring with us.

The TINA B. Festival is a unique art event, organized each year in Prague by Vernon Fine Art International.

Grimanesa Amorós REMOLINO, sculpture measuring 14 x 18 x 4.5 inches closed and 14 x 18 x 16 inches open, a mirrored suitcase containing marbles representing the dreams, memes, and schemes we carry when moving to a new place, its reflective interior mirroring the viewer as a meditation on identity and belonging. Exhibited as part of the Optica Festival 2009, traveling to Bolivia, Argentina, Spain, and beyond, and shown alongside REMOLINO at the Tina B. Festival, Prague, Czech Republic.
