Chinese contemporary art has developed exponentially over the past 15 years. From a small number of “underground” bohemian artists on the fringe of society in the early 90s, the Chinese contemporary art scene has exploded on the international stage to become the talk of the market. Whether one appreciate or dislikes Chinese art, it is common knowledge that its strength and depth comes as a result of artists living in a society where a strong Communist Authoritarian government sits atop a rampant consumerism society. In theory, these 2 worlds should not complement each other, but they do. The inherent forces and tensions are so powerful that the artists, faced with such social developments, are witnesses of incredible times, and through their 5000 years of culture are producting simply ouststanding.

See you at the fair.
