As part of its 10th-anniversary celebrations, Tribeca ISSEY MIYAKE unveiled UROS, a captivating lighting sculpture installation by Grimanesa Amorós. Drawing inspiration from the elegance of sea foam and totora reeds used for building the floating Uros Islands in Puno, Peru, Amoros creates a sequence of lights within the sculpture to enhance its presence. The lighting sculptures captured the essence of the Uros Islands, immersing visitors in a world of light and form.

Uros is part of a series of light sculptures by Grimanesa Amorós, beautifully interpreting the essence of the floating Uros Islands. At Tribeca ISSEY MIYAKE, the artist ingeniously arranged these pieces into monumental yet weightless structures. Illuminated by a custom lighting sequence, the installation continuously transforms, sometimes exuding an ethereal aura while appearing as a solid mass at other moments. This dynamic interplay of light and form captivated onlookers, enveloping them in a world of artistic wonder.

Tribeca ISSEY MIYAKE is the Miyake US headquarters and the flagship store showcasing all Issey Miyake collections. The boutique features a stunning titanium “intervention” or sculpture designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry, enhancing the space with its unique artistic presence.
