LITE (Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise) is the world’s first and only data visualization facility created as a public/private partnership. It is part of the research center at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Governed by a board of commissioners, LITE is a political subdivision of the State of Louisiana.

LITE serves as a hub for innovation, combining cutting-edge technology with research and education. It provides unique opportunities for collaboration between academia, industry, and the public.

Recently, LITE hosted artist Grimanesa Amorós for an insightful talk. Amorós shared details about her artistic practice and the inspiration behind her work. She discussed her installation, UROS House, which explores themes of cultural identity, technology, and human connection.

Amorós explained how UROS House reflects her fascination with the Uros people of Lake Titicaca in Peru. The installation uses light and technology to create an immersive experience. It invites viewers to reflect on the interplay between tradition and modernity.

Her talk provided a deep dive into her creative process. Amorós emphasized how her work transforms spaces and engages audiences. Her ability to merge art, science, and emotion resonated with the audience, inspiring them to think creatively.

The event highlighted the transformative power of art in fostering innovation and dialogue. Amorós’s work aligns with LITE’s mission to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and creativity. Her lecture left a lasting impression on attendees.

LITE continues to host events that bring together artists, researchers, and the public. These gatherings provide opportunities for learning, networking, and collaboration. By fostering meaningful interactions, LITE empowers individuals to engage with art and technology in new ways.
