The Museum of Contemporary Art of Lima (MAC Lima) opened in 2013 in Lima’s bohemian neighborhood of Barranco. The museum originates from a private initiative of collectors, researchers, and artists who, in the 1950s, formed the Institute of Contemporary Art – IAC.

It is currently the only museum in Lima specializing in modern art and contemporary art. It has a modernist building designed by the Peruvian architect Frederick Cooper Llosa.
