The Riyadh Light Festival 2022 is one of the Riyadh Art programs – among the four major Riyadh projects, launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz on March 19, 2019 at the initiative of His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Council. And on weekends (Thursday – Friday – Saturday), a pulse of light show will be broadcast at 8 pm, 10 pm and 12 midnight, and the show will be accompanied by the broadcast of melodies of music available through the electronic application for the celebration on devices and mobile phones composed by the musical artist. The Royal Commission for the City of Riyadh has taken the necessary arrangements with the concerned authorities in the city to ensure smooth traffic in the roads and streets surrounding the towers from which the artistic show is launched, and to educate motorists in these areas to adhere to traffic regulations and instructions.
The Royal Commission also clarified that the show is completely safe and does not result in any harm to drivers or viewers. Whereas, the laser lights used in the artwork were programmed and directed towards specific reception and distribution points far from the level of roads and public facilities to ensure that they do not affect vision while driving, and to viewers in general, God willing.
Destinations for the Noor Riyadh 2022 celebration
The Noor Riyadh 2022 celebration fills the capital in more than 40 locations distributed throughout Riyadh, including five main centers: King Abdullah Park in Malaz, Salam Park, Al Sefarat District, Jax District in Diriyah, and King Abdullah Financial Center, in addition to increasing the number of events accompanying the celebration. To reach more than 500 activities that include community programs, partnerships, musical performances, in addition to a volunteer program that allows citizens to participate in one of the world’s largest celebrations in the field of light arts.
