Grimanesa Amorós MARITIME — suspended LED light sculpture in the lobby of The Peninsula Hotel Istanbul, Turkey. A 15-foot luminous globe-like form evoking the hull of a ship and the seafoam tides of the Bosphorus, referencing Istanbul's centuries of nautical history. Grimanesa Amorós CETHA, 15 x 10 x 5-foot public art LED sculpture and light sculpture installed at the entrance of Civita di Bagnoregio, Palazzo Colesanti, Viterbo, Italy, 2019. Named after the Etruscan word for "sun," red and rose LED tubing blazes at the top of the town's steep pedestrian bridge, greeting and bidding farewell to every visitor, its dawn-colored light sequence honoring the ancient Etruscans who founded this UNESCO-recognized hilltop city. Grimanesa Amorós MARIPOSA DORADA, 55 x 35 x 10-foot public art light sculpture and outdoor LED sculpture at the 13th Havana Biennial, Cuba, 2019. Made of stainless steel, diffusion and reflective material, and LEDs, this monumental light sculpture is inspired by Cuba's national flower, the Flor de Mariposa, whose shifting LED sequence weaves a perpetually changing dance of brilliance embodying the Cuban people's spirit and indomitable will. Grimanesa Amorós SCIENTIA — monumental LED sculpture and public art light sculpture at Azkuna Zentroa cultural center, Bilbao, Spain. Spanning 60 x 35 x 25 feet, glowing LED art fills the grand historic atrium with forms exploring knowledge, fire, water, earth, and light. Grimanesa Amorós IUGO, an 11-foot LED sculpture and light sculpture in the lobby of 176 East 82nd Street, ODA Architecture / Nexus building, Upper East Side, New York, 2021. Made of stainless steel, diffusion and reflective material, and LEDs, the cupola forms are silkscreened with aerial views of Tel Aviv's vineyards, citrus groves, and olive fields, connecting Manhattan and Tel Aviv through shared geography and light. IUGO | 82nd Street, New York, NY

Grimanesa Amorós HUANCHACO, 13 x 15 x 17-foot public art LED sculpture and light sculpture installed inside La Torre de los Vientos, Ruta de la Amistad, Mexico City, 2012. LED light structures woven inside the 40-foot concrete Wind Tower cast an intense play of light and shadow on its tilted surfaces through metal domes, creating an immersive experience that inspires reflection on modern technology and architectural landmarks. Grimanesa Amorós GOLDEN UROS, 11-foot LED sculpture and light sculpture at the Chapelle de la Persévérance, A-PART Contemporary Art Festival, Tarascon, France, 2011. Golden dome forms in LEDs interpreting the floating Uros Islands of Peru fill an intimate historic stone chapel, silkscreened with Amorós's golden self-portrait as a deity, exploring the duality of ancient Incan beliefs and universal spirituality. UROS HOUSE | Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise, Lafayette, LA

Grimanesa Amorós TERRARIUM, permanent 6 x 19 x 7-foot public art light sculpture and LED sculpture in the lobby of The Bayer Building, Tribeca, New York, 2005. Acrylic convex-lens bubble domes mounted on the walls radiate shifting patterns of light from dusk to dawn, their spherical forms containing photographs of the building's past, reflecting Tribeca's evolution from industrial landmark to residential community. TERRARIUM | The Bayer Building, New York, NY

Grimanesa Amorós FRENTE FEROZ, permanent 12 x 53 x 40 2/3 foot public art installation at The Lee Building, 125th Street and Park Avenue, Harlem, New York, 2005. Oversized silhouettes of wild animals are projected in a moving light sequence onto the second story windows, illuminated from dusk to dawn and inspired by Eugene Giscombe's passion for wildlife. FRENTE FEROZ | The Lee Building, Harlem, NY

Grimanesa Amorós SUBSTANCIAL, permanent 33 x 55 x 12-foot public art light sculpture and LED art on the facade of Sun River Health, formerly HRHCare, Peekskill, New York, 2005 to 2007. Acrylic convex-lens LED glowing paper lanterns bearing bilingual words honoring the four founding women of HRHCare flow through a visual river of water-like plastic sheeting, illuminating the health center's community mission in light and color.
